The municipality of Viseu lost 26 million euros from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) destined for housing. Mayor João Azevedo recognizes that the council missed out on these funds, which were fundamental for projects in the areas of housing, health, and education.
According to what was reported, the projects that were planned were not completed on time or did not meet the necessary requirements to access European funds. This situation puts at risk important investments for the development of the municipality.
João Azevedo is now awaiting a solution from the central Government for the works that have already started but were not finished. The mayor hopes there will be some flexibility or alternative so as not to permanently lose these European funds.
