75 days of works in the Station area in Braga

Observador3 September 2026 at 20:31

The City Hall of Braga announced the start of works in the Station area, with a planned deadline of 75 days. The works will affect various streets in this area of the city, with significant impacts on road traffic.

Starting from the 7th, night closures and daytime restrictions will be implemented on the streets covered. The council warned that the initially established deadline may be extended, depending on the development of the works.

The Station area is a high-traffic area in Braga, so the restrictions should have considerable impact on citizens and on city traffic during the period of the works.

The ECHR's Rebuke of Marchena, More Serious in the 'Aturem el Parlament' Case Than in Atutxa

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) overturned a three-year prison sentence for assault on State institutions, issued in 2015 by the president of the Spanish Supreme Court, Manuel Marchena, in the 'Aturem el Parlament' case. Marchena had previously overturned a sentence by Judge Ramón Sáez at the National Court, and now the ECHR has overturned Marchena's decision, considering it a violation of human rights. The case is considered even more serious than the previous one involving former Basque parliamentarian Juan Atutxa.
