The Municipal Chamber of Vieira do Minho will promote on September 20th, at 3:00 PM, in Guilhofrei, the Traditional Corn Husk Removal, an initiative that aims to preserve and enhance one of the most striking manifestations of the municipality's rural identity. The event proposes an afternoon of reunion with traditions and customs that for generations marked the daily life of rural communities.
The traditional husking of corn ears will be the central point of the celebration, bringing together different generations around community work, sharing, and socializing. The program also includes a communal snack, designed to provide the meeting between the local population.
The traditional ox arrivals promise to bring animation and enthusiasm to this afternoon dedicated to popular traditions. According to the municipality, in a statement, the holding of the Traditional Corn Husk Removal is part of the effort to enhance and disseminate the cultural heritage and traditions of the municipality of Vieira do Minho.
