Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar, from the UAE Emirates team, was discharged from hospital on Thursday after undergoing surgery on his left collarbone. The operation took place in Barcelona, the city where the athlete was treated after suffering a fall during the Vuelta a España.
Pogacar abandoned the race while leading the general classification. The accident occurred during a stage of the Vuelta, putting an abrupt end to his participation in the Spanish competition.
After the successful surgery on the left collarbone fracture, the cyclist was considered stable and authorized to leave the Barcelona hospital, where he remained under observation after the operation.
