Generative AI is used by 85% of children and young people (mainly for schoolwork)

About 85% of Portuguese children and young people between 9 and 17 years old have already used generative Artificial Intelligence tools, according to data from the EU Kids Online 2025 report. This value reveals a massive adoption of this technology among the youngest in Portugal.

Schoolwork emerges as one of the main uses that children and young people give to these generative AI tools. The report indicates that students frequently use these resources to assist with tasks related to the school environment.

The EU Kids Online 2025 study is the source of this research on the digital habits of Portuguese youth. The report allows us to understand how technology is integrating into the daily lives of children and adolescents in Portugal.
