FPLP will not be present at Festa do Avante! because it did not "meet the conditions", says PCP

Euronews Portugal3 September 2026 at 18:04

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (FPLP) will not be present at Festa do Avante!, the festival organized by the Portuguese Communist Party (PCP).

PCP clarified that the FPLP did not meet the conditions to participate in the event, thus explaining the absence of the Palestinian organization.

The invitation had been extended to the FPLP to be among the organizations represented at the festival, which is one of PCP's main initiatives.

This clarification came following information that the FPLP would not be present at the event, after it had been associated with the list of invited organizations.
