True enemy of the USA is the current Venezuelan government

dnoticias.pt3 September 2026 at 17:52

The Venezuelan opposition leader, María Corina Machado, reacted for the first time after the signing of an oil agreement between the United States and Venezuela, addressing the American government directly through a video published on her social media. Machado lives in Panama and made the video statement, referring to the Caracas executive as the true enemy of Washington.

In her speech, the winner of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize stated clearly: "The enemies of the United States in Venezuela are today in Miraflores," using the name of the Venezuelan presidential palace to refer to the government of President Nicolás Maduro.

Machado's statement comes just days after the signing of the oil agreement between the two countries, which generated controversy both among the Venezuelan opposition and among critical sectors of the American government. The opposition leader positioned herself against any kind of rapprochement or negotiation with the Venezuelan executive.

This was the first public reaction from María Corina Machado after the announcement of the agreement, at a time when relations between the United States and Venezuela are once again under the international spotlight, with the Venezuelan opposition demonstrating its disagreement with any diplomatic understanding with the Caracas government.
