Benfica announced this Thursday the signing of Ibrahim Ba, a young French midfielder who is just 17 years old. The player arrives from Red Star FC and will reinforce the Eagles' under-23 team, with the aim of continuing to develop and getting closer to professional football.
In statements to BTV, the new signing showed pride in wearing the Benfica shirt. Ibrahim Ba stated that signing for the Portuguese club is a huge pride and a great honor, revealing that he worked very hard to reach this moment and that he is very happy to now be a Benfica supporter.
The move to Portugal also represents an important challenge for the young Frenchman, who left for the first time the country where he lived his entire life. Ibrahim Ba acknowledges that leaving France was a big step, but believes it will be a very important new experience for his growth and that it will help him evolve as a player.
