France will test Tesla's autonomous driving, two months after considering the technology too risky. The test comes after a "constructive dialogue" between French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, which took place on Wednesday night.
The Transport Minister hailed "a new stage" in the authorization of this type of vehicle in France. This development marks a significant shift in the French government's position regarding Tesla's autonomous driving technology.
The decision to test the vehicles comes in a context of reassessment of the previous stance, which classified the technology as too risky for French roads.
