The Russian ambassador in Lisbon, Mikhail Kamynin, denied any involvement by Russia in the drone incident in Leipzig, Germany. Kamynin is the head of the Russian diplomatic representation in Portugal.
The diplomat was summoned by the Portuguese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Paulo Rangel, following the accusations made by Germany against Russia.
Germany accused Russia of direct responsibility in the attempted drone attack, which prompted the Portuguese authorities to summon the ambassador.
The incident occurs in a context of tensions between European countries and Russia, with several countries closely monitoring the accusations against Moscow.
