Farense's opponent in Liga 2 requests postponement of match due to viral outbreak

Diário de Coimbra3 September 2026 at 15:12

Farense requested the postponement of the Liga 2 match against Chaves, scheduled for Sunday, due to a viral outbreak affecting the squad of the Algarve team. The request was made by Farense's SAD and began processing on Wednesday.

The postponement request has already been submitted to the Portuguese Professional Football League, which should make a final decision on the matter during today.

Farense, also known as Briosa, thus faces problems in its roster that prompted this exceptional request to the entity that organizes the competition. The match against Chaves was part of the regular scheduling of Liga 2.
