Leonardo DiCaprio has been in Brazil for a few days and had an intense agenda in the country. The actor met on Wednesday with President Lula, First Lady Janja and ministers at the Palace of the Presidency, in a meeting that lasted 40 minutes and was recorded by the president on his social media.
Before that, DiCaprio visited Chief Raoni, an indigenous leader of prominence in the fight for Amazon preservation. The actor also returned to the Xingu region, in Mato Grosso, an area of great environmental and cultural importance for the indigenous peoples of Brazil.
The meeting at the Palace of the Presidency brought together the president, his wife and members of the federal government with the American actor, known for his environmental activism. The meeting was documented by Lula on his social media, showing the importance attributed to the encounter.
