Union members and colleagues paid tribute to a brake guard who died a year ago at the Elevador da Glória, in Lisbon. The ceremony brought together union members and other workers from the funicular to remember their deceased colleague.
The floral wreath was placed next to the pillar at the entrance to Calçada da Glória, a site that identifies the Ascensor da Glória as a National Monument. This designation was attributed to the elevator since 1997.
The Elevador da Glória is one of the most emblematic monuments of Lisbon, connecting the Baixa to the Bairro Alto through a steep climb. The tribute took place during the celebrations of the first anniversary of the brake guard's death.
