The Town Hall of Vall d'Alba reacted to the closure of the company Importaco, calling for urgent measures to minimize the labor, economic and personal impact caused by the situation.
The Importaco dry fruits factory located in Vall d'Alba, mainly dedicated to almond processing, suffered in May a large fire that completely rendered the company's facilities unusable.
After the fire was extinguished, the factory workers entered an ERTE, a temporary employment regulation mechanism, maintaining the hope of learning about the factory's reconstruction plans.
The Town Hall asked the company to take urgent measures to reduce as much as possible the consequences of this situation for the workers, the local economy and the affected families.
