Rui Caetano insists on the creation of a municipal police in Funchal

Rui Caetano, PS councilor at the Funchal City Council, again insisted on the creation of a municipal police for the city. His statements came at the end of today's meeting of the municipal executive.

The socialist councilor criticized the measures taken so far to solve Funchal's mobility problems. According to Rui Caetano, "it is not with the creation of bus lanes and the placement of bollards that the city's mobility problem will be solved." He argued that these initiatives would only be important if they were integrated into an overall city planning.

Rui Caetano also warned that no measures have yet been announced to solve Funchal's parking problem. The PS councilor considered the current approach of the municipality to the circulation and parking problems in the Madeiran capital to be insufficient.

The socialist councilor also mentioned the need to mitigate the large number of rent-a-car vehicles circulating in the city, although his intervention was incomplete in the article.
