Environment and vegan fair in Loulé expects to serve five thousand plant-based meals

The seventh edition of FAVA – Algarve Environment and Vegan Fair takes place at Parque Municipal de Loulé between September 18 and 20, dedicated to sustainability, plant-based food, conscious consumption and wellbeing. Organized by the Benfazer association, it is considered the largest vegan fair in Portugal, bringing together more than 100 exhibitors, 100 activities and 14 thousand square meters of venue, expecting to receive thousands of visitors from various regions of the country.

Visitors will have access to exhibitors from 20 sectors, including agriculture, food, crafts, gardening, books and clothing. In the dozens of gastronomic spaces, plant-based meals will be served such as francesinhas, hamburgers, pizzas, pastries, cakes, tarts and ice creams, as well as teas, smoothies, artisanal beers and other plant-based beverages.

The organization expects to serve five thousand meals during the three days, surpassing the 4,125 meals from the previous edition. There are 17 theatre, poetry, live music, dance and magic shows planned, as well as cooking shows, lectures, pilates, yoga, capoeira, tai chi classes, children's activities, traditional games, chess and workshops. A clothing, footwear, accessories and books swap market will also be held, along with an object repair zone.

The Benfazer association focuses on reduction, reuse and recycling to minimize environmental impact, does not use fuel generators and uses compostable or reusable crockery and reusable fabric bags.
