The company Importaco confirmed the permanent closure of its almond factory located in Vall d'Alba, which will not be rebuilt after the fire that completely destroyed the facilities in May. The company is of Spanish origin and was established in this locality.
The fire broke out on May 12 and caused the total destruction of the factory's facilities. The violence of the flames was such that firefighters could not control the fire until two days after the start of the incident, prolonging the emergency for a significant period.
This closure represents the loss of an important industrial unit for the Vall d'Alba region, leaving inactive a factory that was dedicated to almond processing. The decision not to rebuild the facilities was made by the company after assessing the damage caused by the fire.
