The Ethnographic Procession took place in the Douro region with the goal of bringing generations together and presenting to the public a heritage linked to the landscape and history of the region, through vivid representations of the practices that marked the daily life of the Douro populations. More than a simple parade, the initiative sought to portray the life and culture of the region.

One of the folk groups present was the cultural group "Os Medroenses", from Santa Marta de Penaguião. In statements to VTM, Maria Sequeira stated that the group is now a regular presence at this initiative, which every year seeks to portray different aspects of Douro life and culture.

In this edition dedicated to professions, the group brought to the streets the embroiderers and lace-makers, recreating through clothing, objects and the work presented on the float an activity that marked the daily life of previous generations.

Maria Sequeira explained that they have been participating in this ethnographic procession for many years, as it represents their traditions, and that this year the theme of the procession is precisely the professions of the past.
