The number of travelers transported by train in Spain decreased 5.3% in the second quarter compared to the same period in 2025, totaling more than 172 million trips, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE).

The decline represents a significant drop in the use of rail transport in the country during that period, indicating a possible change in the travel habits of Spanish citizens.
