Mexican television producer Luis de Llano was detained this Wednesday in Mexico City after refusing to comply with various sanctions ordered by the court in a lawsuit involving singer Sasha Sokol, former member of the group Timbiriche. According to the Mexico City Secretariat of Security, De Llano must spend 15 hours in custody by order of a higher court in the capital.
The detention occurred after the producer failed to comply with court orders, including the obligation to issue a public apology to Sasha and provide financial compensation. De Llano worked for years at Televisa and was the producer for Timbiriche in the 1980s, when the group was among the most successful names in Latin American music.
In 2022, Sasha Sokol reported that she had been a victim of an abusive relationship with De Llano when she was 14 years old. At the time, the producer was 39 years old and worked with the group. The case was taken to civil court, and De Llano was ordered to comply with the sanctions determined by the Justice system.
