Trump says if he were king he would not accept Harry and Meghan

Observador3 September 2026 at 10:25

Donald Trump said that, if he were king, he would not accept Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as members of the monarchy. The US President considered that Meghan Markle was "terribly disrespectful" to Queen Elizabeth II, who died in 2022, and to the current king, Charles III.

Trump expressed satisfaction that the couple had left the United States. Harry and Meghan currently reside in Montecito, California, after renouncing their royal duties in 2020.

This is not the first time Trump has commented on the couple. In 2020, he had already said that Harry and Meghan should not have made negative comments about the British royal family.

The article comes in the context of an interview by Trump to the British press, where he expressed his opinions about the royal family and Meghan's behavior towards the monarchy.

PSP commander calls for more police in Lisbon and "less alarmist speeches"

The commander of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command (Cometlis) of the PSP, Luís Elias, advocated on Thursday for a reinforcement of police officers for the largest command in the country, which covers nine municipalities and approximately three million people, warning that the current force of six thousand police officers is the "minimum" necessary. In an interview with the Notícias ao Minuto agency, the chief superintendent also called for "less alarmist speeches" about security, arguing that crime in the Cometlis area only increased 2.9% in the first eight months of the year, while violent and serious crime decreased 0.4%. Luís Elias emphasized that security must be done in "co-production" with municipalities and that the Lisbon City Council should be part of the solution, not contributing to public alarmism.
