The Municipality of Mesão Frio held a reception for teachers from the School Grouping Professor António da Natividade to mark the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year, strengthening the bond between the municipality and the educational community.

The initiative began at the main school of the Grouping, where teachers were welcomed by director Marta Ferreira, followed by a tour of the five parishes of the municipality, accompanied by municipal technicians.

The program also included a visit to the Douro Museum, in Peso da Régua, and ended with a communal lunch at the school cafeteria, which was attended by the mayor of Mesão Frio, Paulo Silva, and councilors Fernando Correia and Sandra Ferreira.

With classes scheduled to begin on September 14, the initiative symbolically marked the return of the educational community and sought to welcome the professionals who will accompany students throughout the new school year.
