During the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Congress, Daiichi Sankyo presented new relevant data on LDL cholesterol management. The results show clinically relevant reductions in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the first year of treatment.
Lluís Masana, metabolism specialist, stated that LDL cholesterol is not just another risk factor, but rather the cause of atherosclerosis. This declaration highlights the central importance of controlling this type of cholesterol for cardiovascular health.
According to the presented data, it is estimated that these LDL cholesterol reductions will translate into a significant reduction in cardiovascular risk in the long term, specifically over a 10-year horizon.
