This Friday marks the beginning of another edition of Rock in Rio, one of the world's largest music festivals, running until September 13. The event features 190 shows spread across seven stages over seven days. On opening night, the bands Foo Fighters, Rise Against, The Hives and the duo Nova Twins perform at Palco Mundo.
Among the first week's headliners are Avenged Sevenfold on Saturday, Calvin Harris on Sunday and Elton John on Monday. Tickets for Sunday, Monday and the 12th are sold out. For Friday, Saturday and the 11th and 13th, prices range from R$ 870 (standing floor) to R$ 1,950 (comfort zone), at the venue Cidade do Rock, in Barra.
Beyond Rock in Rio, the city's musical agenda from September 3 to 9 includes other highlights such as Spanish artist Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Neguinho da Beija-Flor, Wagner Tiso, Ana Frango Elétrico with Chico Chico (free admission) and the American band The Slackers.
