The US Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, rejected on Wednesday the accusation that Washington intends to "steal Venezuelan oil." The accusation is related to an exploration agreement by the United States of 20% of Venezuela's oil reserves.

Chris Wright, as the US Secretary of Energy, made this statement to clarify the position of the US government regarding the agreement with Venezuela. The accusation that the US would intend to appropriate Venezuelan oil reserves has been circulating since the announcement of the agreement.
