Sandy Soler, from La Vall d'Uixó, suffers from kidney failure that requires hemodialysis sessions six days a week for four years.

To facilitate the dialysis process, she has a catheter inserted in her chest, connected directly to the heart. The maintenance of this catheter is complex, requiring maximum levels of hygiene.

Any small infection could have serious consequences for the patient, highlighting the importance of the invention developed.
