Nestlé announces new infant formula factory in Brazil, 600 million reais project

oglobo3 September 2026 at 04:02

Nestlé announced the construction of a new infant formula factory in Brazil, with an investment of R$ 600 million. The unit will be built in Ituiutaba, in the state of Minas Gerais, and will produce the brands Nestogeno, Nestonutri, Ninho 1+ and Ninho 3+. The project is part of the company's strategy to strengthen the Nutrition and Health area, one of the four globally prioritized areas for Nestlé.

The factory will initially focus on meeting the demand of the Brazilian domestic market and, subsequently, will function as an export hub to other countries. With this, the company seeks to expand its production capacity in the infant formula segment in the country.

The Nutrition and Health division of Nestlé in Brazil will total R$ 2 billion in planned investments by 2028, including projects already announced. Among these is the expansion of the Araçatuba factory, in São Paulo, which is Nestlé's largest unit in Brazil and the main one for infant formulas, with an investment of R$ 540 million.

With these investments, the Nutrition and Health area will represent approximately 30% of the total investment planned by the Swiss multinational in Brazil by 2028, demonstrating the strategic weight of this segment for the company's operations in the country.
