The maestro Carlos Prazeres makes his debut leading the Brazilian Symphony Orchestra (OSB) at the Aquarius Project, which takes place on September 19, at 2 PM, at Praça Mauá, in the Port Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The event aims to bring concert music closer to popular song, bringing together classical music classics with samba classics and hip hop hits.
The concert will feature the participation of guests Leci Brandão and Emicida, representing Brazilian popular music in dialogue with the symphonic repertoire. The choice of artists reinforces the project's goal of uniting different musical genres in a single performance.
The repertoire includes pieces such as Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," "Alvorada" from the opera "Lo Schiavo," by Carlos Gomes, and Villa-Lobos's "Trenzinho do caipira," alongside contemporary compositions such as Ennio Morricone's "Cinema Paradiso," the soundtrack from the 1988 film of the same name, and "A Journey Through Time," by composer, accordionist, and arranger Marcelo Caldi.
