How were the electoral polls in September 2022? See numbers for Lula and Bolsonaro

oglobo3 September 2026 at 04:01

The first Quaest poll after the start of electoral propaganda on TV and radio was released on this Wednesday and showed President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) with 37% of voting intentions in the first-round simulation. Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who was running for re-election, appeared next with 30%.

Four years ago, in the 2018 elections, Lula and Bolsonaro were also competing for the Palácio do Planalto by a narrow margin, establishing a pattern of competitiveness between the two candidates.

In the first round of the 2022 elections, the Quaest poll released on August 17 of that year showed Lula with 45% of voting intentions, a significant difference compared to the 37% in the later poll.

Other names also competing for the Presidency of Brazil at that time were Ciro Gomes and Simone Tebet, who had 6% and 3% of voting intentions, respectively.
