The 24-year-old Paraguayan midfielder Matías Galarza will be the new addition to Inter Miami, Lionel Messi's team. The player signed his contract on Wednesday, officially marking his return to the American first division after a controversial spell at River Plate, the club that had acquired him in 2025.
Galarza had a forgettable spell at Vasco da Gama in Brazil before his transfer to River Plate. His arrival at the Argentine club was not successful, resulting in a turbulent end to his stay at the Argentine giant.
At Inter Miami, the Paraguayan will join a midfield that the current MLS champions significantly reinforced with the arrival of Brazilian Casemiro. In addition to playing alongside Messi, he will share the locker room in Florida with other renowned players, such as Rodrigo de Paul and Luis Suárez.
The Paraguayan midfielder had a standout performance with the Paraguayan national team at the Copa América, which drew the American club's attention to his signing.
