Uber will proceed with the layoff of 10% of its workers worldwide, eliminating approximately 3,300 positions as part of a restructuring process, the American multinational company announced today.
The decision was communicated by Uber's CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, through an internal message sent to the company's employees, the content of which was later disclosed on the company's official website.
In his communication, Khosrowshahi stated that it was not a decision made lightly, highlighting that the measure will have a concrete impact on the team colleagues and friends affected by the layoffs.
The restructuring process comes amid the company's need to optimize resources, which decided to proceed with this significant reduction of its workforce on a global scale.
