Dia de Jogo — jornal desportivo3 September 2026 at 01:38

Benfica managed to secure the Argentine Claudio Echeverri, 20 years old, through a loan from Manchester City. The young attacking midfielder will strengthen the Portuguese club next season.

Echeverri, from Argentina, arrived at Manchester City in 2023, but failed to establish himself at the English club. During his time at City, the player was loaned to other European clubs to gain experience and playing time.

Before signing for Manchester City, the young Argentine played for Bayer Leverkusen and Girona. These experiences in different European leagues were important for his development as a player.

The loan to Benfica represents an opportunity for Echeverri to continue his progression in a competitive league like the Portuguese one, where he may have more opportunities to play regularly.

Everton Cebolinha, from Flamengo, rejects Botafogo's offer

Everton Cebolinha, Flamengo's forward, rejected Botafogo's offer that included a two-year contract and a salary above R$ 1 million. Although the numbers pleased the player and his staff, Cebolinha thanked the black-and-white club's interest but stated he wants to play outside Rio de Janeiro after four years with the red-and-black. Botafogo is now looking for other options in the market to strengthen the attack wing. Flamengo continues to allow the player to find a new club capable of paying his salary, without charging a transfer fee, since the contract runs until the end of the year, with the only goal being to reduce the salary bill.
