PGR asks for dismissal of Vorcaro's report about alleged threats and says banker did not present concrete facts

oglobo3 September 2026 at 00:07

The Office of the Attorney General asked the Supreme Court to dismiss the testimony of banker Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, in which he claimed to have suffered alleged threats and intimidation. The Attorney General of Brazil, Paulo Gonet, considered that Vorcaro did not present concrete facts or minimum elements that would justify adopting new investigative measures regarding the case.

Vorcaro was heard in person by Minister André Mendonça, rapporteur of the investigations related to Banco Master at the STF, on August 27. The hearing was authorized after Vorcaro's defense stated that he intended to report alleged threats and intimidation he had suffered.

In the PGR's assessment, the testimony did not bring information capable of justifying an investigation. Gonet stated that Vorcaro did not report a concrete or legally delimited fact capable of driving investigative action, nor did he present elements that would lend verisimilitude to the allegations made.

The new political map of Burriana fails to unblock the 2026 budget

The departure of Daniel Gutiérrez from Vox and his move to the group of non-attached councilors has again altered the composition of the Burriana town council. However, this latest change in the plenary does not seem to open, at least for now, the door to a negotiation to approve the 2026 municipal budget, presented at the beginning of the year by the PP executive (which governs in minority with eight councilors) and which continues without the necessary support for its approval.
