One of the major innovations at Rock in Rio 2026 is the complete reformulation of the Mundo Stage, a space traditionally dedicated to the main shows and headliners of the festival. The stage, which previously followed a more traditional format, will now be entirely built with LED technology.
The new Mundo Stage is 104 meters long and 31.05 meters high, with approximately 2,400 square meters of LED screen area. This change follows a trend adopted by international festivals like Coachella, as well as world tours by artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift.
Roberta Medina, vice president of Rock World, the company that manages the event, stated that the audience experience will be fully immersive, since each artist will be able to set up the screen however they want. According to her, the advantage of bringing this technology to such a large stage is precisely allowing each artist to build their own scenery, combining talent and creativity in various ways.
Rock in Rio executives cite that it will take 8,000 hours of production to assemble the new stage. Roberta Medina highlighted that it will be interesting to see how each artist will use the technology to their advantage, mentioning that Pedro Sampaio has already given a "spoiler" of how the innovation can be explored.
