Carlos Queiroz was officially reconfirmed as Ghana's national team coach. The 71-year-old Portuguese coach is returning to lead the African national team, having been confirmed by the Ghanaian federation to lead the national team.
Queiroz's main mission will be to prepare and lead Ghana at the 2026 World Cup. This will be the third World Cup of his career as a national team coach, having previously managed Portugal (1991-1993 and 2008-2010), Egypt (2004-2005), South Africa (2010-2011) and Iran (2011-2019).
The Portuguese coach's return to Ghana comes after a period in which he returned to the forefront of international football. Queiroz had previous spells with the Ghanaian national team, having left his mark on African football.
The Ghanaian federation justified hiring Queiroz for his extensive experience in World Cup competitions and his deep knowledge of African football. The Portuguese arrives to replace the previous national team coach and promises to rise to the challenge of leading Ghana to the 2026 World Cup.
