Clariens Educação, controlled by Mubadala Capital, the asset manager of Abu Dhabi's sovereign wealth fund, announced on Wednesday the acquisition of Universidade Vila Velha (UVV), one of the most traditional higher education institutions in Espírito Santo. The university is recognized for its strong presence in medical education and the health sector.
With the acquisition, Clariens now has six higher education institutions with Medical courses in its portfolio, all acquired in the last four years. UVV is the first university in Espírito Santo to join the group.
The group currently controls the Zarns network, with colleges in Bahia, Goiás, and Minas Gerais, as well as Unesulbahia in Bahia and Centro Universitário IMEPAC in Minas Gerais. UVV, founded 50 years ago, has one of the most traditional Medical courses in the region.
