Intense heat places Vale do Tejo under yellow warning in the coming days

Eleven districts on the Portuguese mainland will be under yellow warning on Thursday and Friday due to the forecast of hot weather, with high maximum temperature values. The information was released by the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The Institute predicts that temperatures could reach 42 degrees in the Interior regions south of the Serra da Estrela. This heatwave will particularly affect the areas of Vale do Tejo, Beira Baixa, and Alentejo.

The yellow warning is the second lowest level in a three-level meteorological warning scale, indicating a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
