A significant increase in maximum temperatures is forecast across Portuguese territory, with expected values between 34 and 38 degrees. The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) indicates that temperatures will rise generally. In the inland regions south of the Serra da Estrela, including the Vale do Tejo, Beira Baixa and Alentejo, thermal values will exceed 40 degrees. This is a heat wave that especially affects the southern inland regions of the country, where temperatures reach more extreme values.
