Russian President Vladimir Putin classified as absurd the rumors that the Kremlin would be preparing a new wave of military mobilization. The speculations about a possible mobilization had spread in recent days, generating concern both domestically and internationally.
Putin directly rejected these reports, stating that ordering a new round of mobilization of Russian citizens for the military effort is not in the Kremlin's plans. The Russian President thus sought to calm the population and deny the information circulating about this matter.
On the other hand, Ukraine has been stating that the Kremlin plans to recruit an additional 300,000 soldiers. Kiev maintains that Russia is preparing for a new phase of the conflict, although Russian authorities continue to deny these claims.
