There are increasingly more Portuguese people needing help in Venezuela, particularly after the double earthquake of June 24. The Ladies of Portuguese Beneficence Society (SBDP), which already accompanied many Luso-Venezuelan families in vulnerable situations, now faces increased demand from compatriots affected by the earthquakes.

The president of SBDP, Lucecita Fernandes, revealed to Luka Agency that the organization has no resources to expand assistance. According to the official, the institution has been going through a very difficult situation for two months now, without capacity to respond to the increased demand for help.

SBDP is an entity that supports the Portuguese community in Venezuela and operates with limited resources, depending on donations to maintain its welfare activities among the most needy Luso-Venezuelans.
