The assessor of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Brazil – Minas Gerais, Tarcísio Costa, received on August 9 the "Civic Merit" commendation, awarded by the Most Serene Military Order of Chivalry Padre Anchieta, through state seneschal Muryllo Alvarenga. The distinction recognizes the work developed by Tarcísio Costa in the areas of culture, tourism, heritage preservation and the valorization of the historical identity of Minas Gerais.

The ceremony took place at the Officers' Club of the Military Police and Firefighters, in Belo Horizonte, and brought together authorities, members of the Order and representatives of civil and military institutions. The presentation of the commendation took place during the staging of the Battle of Ourique, an episode of relevance to Portuguese history associated with the affirmation of D. Afonso Henriques and the process of formation of the Kingdom of Portugal.

In statements to Agência Incomparáveis, Tarcísio Costa explained that the Order's connection to the Templars in Tomar, Portugal, contributed to the attention directed to his career at the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Brazil. The official stated that the distinction is related to an activity that is part of his convictions, expressing himself extremely flattered to receive a tribute for promoting cultural, historical and socioeconomic relations between Minas Gerais and Portugal.

Among the initiatives highlighted by Tarcísio Costa is the "Dinner of Seven," created within the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce in Brazil – Minas Gerais, associated with the celebrations of Brazil's Independence Day. The event, which will take place at the Palace D'Ouro, in Ouro Preto, includes a social responsibility component, with proceeds reverting to the Society of São Vicente de Paulo, an organization that supports children, elderly and young people in situations of social vulnerability.
