One year after the tragedy of the Glória Elevator, in Lisbon, a memorial in tribute to the victims was inaugurated this Thursday. The inauguration ceremony took place at 9 in the morning.
The creation of this memorial had been approved by the Lisbon City Council on September 8, 2025, a few days after the tragedy that killed several people.
The Glória Elevator, one of the most iconic means of transport in the Portuguese capital, had suffered a serious accident that resulted in fatalities, shocking the country and leading to the creation of this permanent tribute.
The memorial emerges as a way to preserve the memory of the victims and symbolically mark the first anniversary of the accident that shook Lisbon.
