Rio de Janeiro ranks second among Brazilian states with the highest presence of companies that carry out corporate social investment, according to the annual BISC (Benchmarking of Corporate Social Investment) survey, conducted by Comunitas. The survey shows that 48% of the companies covered by the study have a presence in the state through their social investments, trailing only São Paulo, which leads with 74%.
The survey identified 35 municipalities in the state as targets of social investments made by companies in the BISC network. The presence of these companies is strongly influenced by the capital, but also reaches regions such as the Campos Basin, Região dos Lagos, and Baixada Fluminense.
The investment map follows the state's own economic profile. In the different regions, there are companies linked to sectors such as oil and gas, mining, and other branches of the state's economy.
