New stop in Pelourinho opens with buses lined up and passengers lost

The new bus stop at Largo do Pelourinho came into operation today, but the change is already causing inconveniences and confusion among passengers travelling through the centre of Funchal. A testimony sent to DIÁRIO reports that at 7 pm, well after rush hour and still during the school holidays, five or six buses were queuing at the new stop, creating a somewhat chaotic scenario on one of the main arteries of the capital.
