João Marques da Cruz is the new executive administrator of the António Pargana Foundation (FAP). The former president of EDP Brasil, who led the company between 2021 and 2025, now assumes this role with the mission of developing new areas of action and projects that the Foundation intends to implement. His entry occurs at a time when FAP intends to expand its activity, maintaining as a priority the rapprochement between Portugal and Portuguese communities spread across the world.
In addition to leading EDP Brasil, João Marques da Cruz served on the Executive Board of EDP and was president of AICEP. He built much of his career in the transport sector, with positions at TAP, CP and EMEF, among other companies. He currently holds non-executive positions in various international companies.
The António Pargana Foundation was founded in October 2023 by António Pargana, a Portuguese businessman residing in Brazil, with the aim of strengthening the bond between Portugal and the Diaspora, promoting greater knowledge about the country among Portuguese communities and their descendants. FAP has developed programs in partnership with Portuguese universities, aimed especially at people of Portuguese descent and Portuguese speakers.
António Pargana, founder of FAP, currently serves on the Board of Directors together with João Marques da Cruz and Diogo Feio. The Board of Trustees includes, among others, Pedro Reis, Pedro Siza Vieira, David Justino, Graça Fonseca, Fátima Barros and Miguel Guedes.
