Águas do Alto Alentejo applies for €9.4 million from Portugal 2030 to renew networks and infrastructure

Águas do Alto Alentejo (AAA) submitted applications to the Portugal 2030 program for a total value of approximately 9.4 million euros between January and August 2026. The investments are intended for the renewal and modernization of networks, equipment, and infrastructure for water supply and sanitation.

The applications cover the ten municipalities that are part of AAA's area of intervention. The main objective is to improve the water distribution and basic sanitation systems in these areas.

This investment represents a continuation of the more than 11 million euros invested since 2022 by the entity. It also complements a water efficiency project that was started at the end of 2024, whose investment was planned but not fully detailed in the article.

The initiative reflects the ongoing efforts of Águas do Alto Alentejo to modernize its infrastructure and ensure quality service in the municipalities it serves, using European funds available through Portugal 2030.
