The Livre spokesperson Isabel Mendes Lopes accused Chega of creating "another episode of folklore" with the presentation of a censure motion against the Government, considering that the party is disrespecting "parliament's time". The parliamentary leader of Livre argued that the delivery of the motion would push the debate to Monday, the 7th, the day before the parliamentary hearing of the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves, scheduled for the 8th.
Isabel Mendes Lopes criticized the party led by André Ventura, accusing it of "always riding the biggest controversy to always be riding the wave and occupy all media space", preventing other issues that "truly concern the country" from being debated. The Livre representative recalled that Luís Neves "has several explanations to give" and that "the prime minister has to speak out", but highlighted that the minister will come to parliament on the 8th.
Regarding Livre's position on the censure motion, Isabel Mendes Lopes deferred the final decision to the party's internal bodies, but made it clear that Livre has never voted in favor of a Chega censure motion. "Livre does not follow Chega's folklore at all and, therefore, has never voted in favor. In fact, we have always voted against censure motions presented by Chega, because they are exactly another process of degradation of institutions that Chega has accustomed us to," she criticized.
The leader of Chega, André Ventura, announced that he submitted a censure motion against the Government in parliament following the controversies involving the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves.
