Luís Neves, minister of Internal Administration, rose from fifth to second position, involved in controversy due to his conduct while heading the Judicial Police. During the month of July, he appeared in 128 news items, with 6 hours and 24 minutes of duration. With these changes, the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, stops leading the ranking after five months at the top, occupying third position with 133 news items of 5 hours and 43 minutes of duration.
The president of Chega, André Ventura, dropped from second to fourth position, starring in 98 news items of 4 hours and 13 minutes of duration. José Luís Carneiro, PS general-secretary, rose one place to fifth position, having appeared in 102 news items of 4 hours and 10 minutes of duration. According to Marktest, during the month of July, the three main open-signal television channels broadcast almost 239 hours of regular information, a monthly increase of 7.5% and a year-on-year increase of 1%. RTP1 remained as the station that aired the most news, with 2,654 items, as well as the one that dedicated the most time to regular information, with almost 94 hours of duration.
