How many teachers are there per class? See data from almost 300 daycare centers in Rio and São Paulo

The GLOBO Daycare Guide is a tool that allows parents of students to view the number of students per teacher in early childhood education classes at each school. The tool presents data from nearly 300 daycare centers and preschools, including tuition fees, schedules, location, infrastructure, and teaching methodology.

The calculation of the number of students per teacher was made based on the total number of children in daycare and preschool at the institution divided by the number of teachers it has in these two stages. The data used is from the 2025 edition of the School Census, the official statistics reported by institutions to the Ministry of Education.

According to the data collected, private schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro have an average of 13 students per teacher in early childhood education. In São Paulo, the number is lower, with an average of 10 students per teacher.

The tool enables parents to access this information in an individualized way for each of the participating schools, helping in the choice of the best daycare for their children.

Banco de Portugal confirms: deadline to request a direct debit refund is 8 weeks but in these situations it can reach 13 months

Banco de Portugal confirmed that, although the general deadline to request a direct debit refund is eight weeks, consumers and micro-enterprises have up to 13 months to request rectification when the charge was not authorized or was incorrectly executed. The BdP clarifies that this maximum deadline is not an authorization to delay communication, which should be made as soon as the customer becomes aware of the situation, and that the bank bears the burden of proving the existence of authorization. In case of an unauthorized operation, the bank must refund immediately or by the end of the first following business day. The article also details the procedures to follow when facing unknown charges, reminding that the refund does not eliminate a potentially valid contractual debt.
