The GLOBO Daycare Guide is a tool that allows parents of students to view the number of students per teacher in early childhood education classes at each school. The tool presents data from nearly 300 daycare centers and preschools, including tuition fees, schedules, location, infrastructure, and teaching methodology.
The calculation of the number of students per teacher was made based on the total number of children in daycare and preschool at the institution divided by the number of teachers it has in these two stages. The data used is from the 2025 edition of the School Census, the official statistics reported by institutions to the Ministry of Education.
According to the data collected, private schools in the city of Rio de Janeiro have an average of 13 students per teacher in early childhood education. In São Paulo, the number is lower, with an average of 10 students per teacher.
The tool enables parents to access this information in an individualized way for each of the participating schools, helping in the choice of the best daycare for their children.
