Seven heritage sites from Madeira are competing in the final of the 7 Wonders of Portugal, in an edition dedicated to built heritage. The regional candidates participate on Saturday in a semi-final that will select the representatives of the autonomous region.

Among the Madeiran candidates are various cultural and natural spaces that represent the heritage of the archipelago. The competition promises to be fierce, with multiple regions of the country presenting their proposals.

The 7 Wonders contest has been promoting the appreciation of Portuguese heritage, giving visibility to assets that, otherwise, might go unnoticed. Madeira's participation in this final phase highlights the cultural and natural richness of the region.
